Align with your Heart
Reflexology, holistic, non-invasive therapy based on the principle that there are reflex points on the feet, hands and face that relate to all areas of the body. I work mainly on the feet, though you may have a session incorporating reflex points on hands/face, similarly you may leave a session with some points that you can work yourself; a little bit of homework if you like! When pressure is applied to these points imbalances in the body and mind may be addressed. It's so much more than a nice foot rub! Benefits may include:
*relaxation
*reduced tension
*aids sleep
*improved mood
*promotes wellbeing
Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD), an award winning reflexology technique which stimulates lymphatic reflexes on feet using a unique sequence developed by Sally Kay.
Reiki, energy therapy that originated in Japan translates to "Universal Life Force". Life force energy is the very essence of life flowing through us. Are you feeling run down, stressed, not sleeping well, generally feeling "off" or "stuck" around a certain area? If so, your life force energy may be depleted. This can lead to an imbalance in your chakra system. Reiki may balance the chakra system as any blocks are released and energy flows unrestricted. Session can be in-person or distance reiki. Reiki is not restricted by time or space therefore, with intention, reiki can be sent to you wherever you are, eg in the comfort of your own home. Benefits may include:
*clearer thoughts, focus and a sense of purpose
*deep relaxation
*stress relief, feeling calmer and more joy
* better sleep
*spiritual growth and intuition
Acupressure Facial Therapy Massage, holistic facial massage treats the unique structure of the face to support wellbeing and promote stress relief. It incorporates the Chinese Acupressure facial map where pressure is applied to certain meridian and vessel points. Additionally there's gentle release and stretching of the fascia and soothing lymphatic drainage. Benefits may include:
*calming the nervous system
*release of tension (we use our facial muscles more than any other muscle)
*release and stretching of fascia
*supports collagen and elastin of the facial structure
*encourages desquamation of skin
*increased blood supply to the face
*aids lymphatic drainage
*stimulates acupressure points and reflexes that benefit the whole body
*looking and feeling revitalised
Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect during a session?
During your first session a confidential consultation form is completed.
For reflexology, simply remove your footwear and relax on my treatment couch. Your feet are cleansed then gentle pressure is applied and, what feels like a very relaxing foot rub is aimed at bringing about deep relaxation in the whole body, mind and spirit. Reflexology should not be painful. It shouldn't be tickly either! Some areas may feel tender if there is an imbalance, but the pressure can be adjusted to your comfort.
For reiki, you remain fully clothed and simply rest whilst I place my hands lightly on or above different chakra points on your body. You may feel warmth or tingling as you access deep relaxation. The environment is quiet and nurturing, allowing you to switch off and recharge.
During an acupressure facial, you remain fully clothed, your face is gently cleansed using Neal's Yard products and a very small amount of oil is used.
Your comfort is essential. Sessions are held in my private, quiet space with dim lighting to create a calming atmosphere. The temperature can be adjusted for your comfort and an electric blanket is turned on in the cooler months if required. Extra pillows are provided too as needed. Gentle background music is played and I may use my sound bowl to enhance your relaxation. You may fall asleep, this is very common!! A refreshing facial spritz may be used to awaken the senses and enhance the feeling of renewal at the end of your session.
How will I feel after a session?
Clients have reported deep relaxation, stress relief, better sleep, less anxious, improved mood, renewed energy, enhanced feelings of harmony, wellbeing and clarity of thought. It's often recommended that you relax afterwards and drink water to maintain hydration. You may want to journal around any feelings that may have arisen.
How long does a session last?
Typically 60 minutes; an hour just for you. Acupressure facials are 30 minutes, either as a stand alone treatment or added to reflexology and/or reiki. Some prefer the Reiki and Reflexology combined 90 minutes, referred to as the "ultimate R+R".
What do clients come to see me for?
Clients may come for many holistic reasons. They may feel overwhelmed, stressed, anxious or simply in need of a break. Many are busy juggling the demands of modern living, both men and women, those caring for others, mums postnatally, those needing time for their own self care. Common issues include wanting to improve sleep, boost energy, cope with and be supported in times of transition, eg grief. Some people seek complementary therapy to support them alongside medical care. Some may attend monthly and see it as a maintenance and simply enjoy a quiet space to reconnect with themselves.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies for each individual. Some people benefit from regular sessions, while others may find occasional treatments helpful. Following consultation we can discuss a plan that suits your needs. As a complementary therapist I focus on bringing about homeostasis for balance of your holistic wellbeing.
Where are sessions held?

Considering the negative impacts of stress, you may consider the above as great steps in maintaining your holistic health. They may help you access deep stillness and relaxation, as you switch off overwhelm and instead tap-into your inner calm, wisdom and guidance. This is what I refer to as "Align with your Heart"
When the sympathetic nervous system i.e. the fight/flight stress response is calmed, the parasympathetic nervous system helps to bring about a more coherent balancing response.
Always seek advice from your Dr if you have concerns about your health. Complementary therapies should not be viewed as a replacement for medical care, rather the perfect addition to your health and wellbeing plan.
As I am a member of Association of Reflexologists (AOR) you may be entitled to claim some costs back after a session if you have a health cash plan *depends on level of cover. Please ask for a receipt.
